The Look: Black and white ensembles will always be in, and Gwen shows us that the palette can be tailored to anyone's individual style. While she keeps it old Hollywood with red pops of color, she still maintains her edgy, unique vibe that we love her for. The predominantly white dress with a little touch of block is very on-par with the white trends for summer, so take a cue from Miss No Doubt the next time you have some sort of formal affair.
Dress, Lulus.com, $52; Lipstick, Revlon ColorBurst in "True Red," $7; Belt, Casselini, $69; Clutch, Modcloth.com, $25; Mascara, Sue Devitt in "Pointe Noire," $49; Eyeshadow, Armani Eyes to Kill in "Smoke Black," $32; Heels, Unique-vintage.com, $74
Getting It Right: Many of us may not have the grand red carpet events to attend like Gwen does, so a shorter white dress is more appropriate. However, stick with the cutout detailing on the dress; it adds sex appeal without being over-the-top. Incorporate a black bowed belt at the waist to mimic the minimal black detailing that Gwen displays, or thread a large silk black ribbon from the top of one strap and through the cutout area to your liking. Select a pair of black platform heels accented with red parts, and throw in a red clutch to pull it all together. While it seems matchy-matchy, use the same hues for your makeup look. Many people advise to pair smokey eyes with a subdued lip, or vice versa, but you won't get caught by the fashion police anytime soon if you do both a red, bold lip and dark, shadowy eyes at the same time. Gwen looks fierce, so slap on a classic red shade, blend black shadow onto your lids and load up on the mascara.
