My favorite part of summer has to be lounging by the pool and sipping fruity frozen drinks. But a lot of them are full of empty calories and loads of sugar. Not the ideal thing to have when you want to look in bikini ready shape. Try some of these easy recipes smoothie recipes that are both delicious and low-cal.
Mango Pina Colada Smoothie
What you need:
½ cup of non-fat coconut yogurt
½ cup of pineapple juice
1 small mango, diced
½ cup crushed ice.
Blend all ingredients until fully smooth. If not blending well, add more juice as needed. If you don't have or like mangoes, try a banana instead.
Summer Fruit Blend Smoothie
What you need:
1 medium banana
4 ounces of crushed pineapple
½ cup of non-fat vanilla yogurt
½ cup orange juice (50% less sugar OJ is a great substitute)
½ crushed ice
Blend all ingredients, add more OJ if needed.
Strawberry-Papaya Smoothie:
What you need:
½ cup vanilla soy milk (skim milk works as well)
½ cup plain fat-free yogurt
½ cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced in half
¾ cup of fresh papaya, seeded, peeled and diced
1 tbs honey
½ cup crushed ice
Blend all ingredients together, adding more milk if needed. If not sweet enough, more honey can be added or a flavored yogurt can be substituted.
