Easy DIY Halloween Costumes on a College Budget

With most of our money going into buying textbooks and other college necessities, we tend to forgot about Halloween costumes, which are only worn for one night and can be very expensive for a college student. The solution to this is finding things you already own and purchasing inexpensive objects to make a budget-friendly, yet awesome costume.

"It’s raining cats and dogs!":
We all own an umbrella and somewhere at home are random stuffed cats and puppies we had as a kid growing up. Why not stick these on using a hot glue gun?

Mary Poppins: This is a fairly easy costume to make. All you would need is an apron, some sort of brief case, long skirt, button down blouse or simply a trench coat and an umbrella. Everyone would know who you are!

Twister: All you need to do is paint or color a plain white t-shirt with large dots in red, blue, yellow, and green. It’s that easy!

Animals: Have a cute cheetah or zebra print dress that you can't wear out regularly? Pair it with a pair of DIY animal ears (all you need is a headband, felt, and tacky or hot glue!)

Goddess:
You can use the bed sheets to create this signature look. Tie the sheets over you as you would do for a toga party, then add your own accessories such as gold jewelry, sandals and you can be really creative and use leaves outside to create a headdress.

Whatever you decide to do this Halloween, just know you don’t have to spend so much money and still be creative with a one-of-a-kind costume.
