As the holidays roll in, we’re sure you’re preparing yourself for a long list of festivities -- parties, shopping, feasts and wintertime activities -- and you’ll need fabulous looks for them all. So, as you’re decking the walls and trimming the tree, try out these holiday hairstyles -- it’s CG’s gift to you!
Finger Waves
Although the finger waves style was a popular trend in the 1920s, it’s still definitely a go-to look for a special outing during the holiday season. Part your hair on one side, creating loose finger waves. Tuck your additional hair at the nape of your neck, secure with bobby pins and you’re set to go. If you’re too afraid to try out this nostalgic ‘do, Tyra Banks, Rihanna and Emmy Rossum all prove that this look can be both modernized and chic.
Hint: Complete this look with pearl earrings and a burgundy lipstick.
Hair Buns
In the same fashion that a star atop a Christmas tree completes the look, so does a dramatic hair bun. Coming in all styles and sizes, buns can be a perfect accent to holiday looks. Although messy top knot buns were a popular trend during the summer, a more uniformed bun offers more elegance. If your hair length can’t achieve the voluminous bun you’d prefer, visit your local beauty supply stores for hair buns, or use hair extensions to create more volume.
Tip: Draw on a winged eye with your eyeliner to create a more dramatic look.
Infinity Braid
What’s best about the infinity braid is the versatility it offers. It can be worn at a holiday dinner with your family or a holiday-themed game night with friends. The braid, though, is often hard to create. Check out this video for a little assistance.
Tip: Get in the holiday cheer by pinning some holly on one side of your braid.
With these looks, you’re sure to show off your holiday spirit by being both chic and stylish. In addition to these hairstyles, try out our unique makeup ideas that are all the rage this season.
