DIY Paint Chip Calendar

If you are bored of using the same old, basic white calendar, then try making a fun dry-erase calendar! The only supplies you need are a large frame, 35 paint chips and a dry-erase marker. It will not only help you keep up with your busy, constantly changing schedule, but it will also be decorative.

The frame should be at least 12” x 16” to ensure there is enough space to write in each day. Decorate the frame however you choose. You can paint it a bold color (i.e. gold or silver), antique or modge-podge it.

To make the actual calendar, you will need to go to your local paint store or a home improvement store such as Home Depot or Lowes. Choose 35 paint chips. To make the calendar look more polished, we suggest choosing paint chips of the same color family (i.e. light blues, blue and dark blues.) The paint chips need to be at least 2” x 2” in order to be able to be written on clearly.

Arrange the paint chips in five rows and seven columns for the days of the week, using a balance of the different shades. We suggest gluing or taping the paint chips to a piece of paper or a white poster, rather than directly on the back insert.

After you attach the chips to the paper, assemble the frame back together. Use the dry erase marker to write on the glass the days of the week on the first row. Then add in the different dates for the current month into the top of the paint chips.

Ta-da! You now have a nifty, new calendar to keep track of your daily events and tasks!
