“Oz The Great And Powerful,” in theaters now, is shaping up to be a pretty powerful movie at the box office. At the premiere, the leading men and ladies walked the yellow brick road to show off their, well, star power. The movie is packed with famous names, one of them being Mila Kunis, who portrays one of three witches in the film, Theodora. For the movie’s L.A. premiere, Mila shed her character’s darker style and arrived in a super feminine Dolce & Gabbana frock paired with a pair of pretty purple earrings.
This fun dress was a perfect fit for the tone of the movie. The shorter hemline lends a playful vibe, and the lace detailing adds a sophisticated elegance to this party dress. With a short dress, shoe choice is an important element, and Mila definitely did not disappoint. Her whimsical Christian Louboutin heels added a sweet touch that perfectly accented her dress, and added just the right amount of girlishness without going overboard. Mila completed her look with a pair of purple earrings that brought a bright pop of color to the ensemble and helped to balance out this fairytale look, keeping things fresh and fun.
1. Shirt from American Apparel, $42
2. Wedges from Charlotte Russe, $35.50
3. Skirt from Topshop, $50
4. Bag from Target, $19.99
5. Bangle from Kate Spade, $32
To begin this look, go with a lace skirt that mimics the shape of Mila’s dress. Tucked into a purple button down, it gives off a romantic vibe, while still being functional enough for everyday wear. The purple shirt is a nod to the purple earrings Mila paired with her look, and it brings color into the outfit while keeping things casual. This look can be dressed up or down depending on shoe choice, and a pair of cream wedges can take this ensemble from day to night.
A quilted cross-body purse gives you a cute place to store all your essentials, and the quilting contrasts nicely with the lace in the skirt and brings in a little more texture to the outfit, which is important when many of the pieces are neutrals. A simple gold bangle adds a little shine to the outfit, and plays off the color of the lace on Mila’s dress to help finish off this look. Mila kept her beauty look simple here, which really worked for this dress and didn’t overwhelm it. Less is more here when it comes to makeup, so go for the natural look with simple eye makeup, a sweep of bronzer and a pretty pink gloss for some shine!
