School’s out and shorts are in. That means the go-to, jean shorts (or as the cool kids say, jorts) are in. There is no better way to spice up your jorts than by giving them a fun new back pocket.
What you will need:
- A pair of jorts (jean shorts)
- Fabric (whatever you want -- our personal favorite is tribal)
- Scissors
- Sewing machine (or needle and thread)
- Sewing pins
- Paper
Take the paper and trace the back pocket of your jean shorts. This way you will know how big you need the fabric to be. With the pins, pin the paper to the fabric and cut your fabric to the correct size.
Pin the cut-out fabric to your pocket using the sewing pins. You will now need your sewing machine to sew the fabric onto the pocket. If you are a more skilled sewer then you should ply off the old pocket so that your pocket does not become too thick. But, for those of us who are not skilled sewers -- sewing the new pockets over the old pockets will be just fine.
Once you have sewed on the new pocket you can remove all the pins. At this point you can adjust the jeans however you choose. Now go show off your summer body and rock your new jorts!
